The Adams XTZ ADIXION is the next evolution in our XTZ series and sets new standards in Euro nymphing. It has been designed for anglers who demand the utmost precision, the finest feedback and maximum control. Thanks to its light weight, high responsiveness and a carbon handle and reel seat, it offers precise presentations, exceptional sensitivity and an unmistakable feel that quickly becomes addictive.
The new carbon handle and hand-woven carbon reel seat combine functionality with a clean, technical aesthetic. What’s more, the bite isn’t ‘lost’ in the handle – you feel it through the blank right into the carbon handle as strongly as if you were holding the line directly in your hand. With the help of the integrated balancing system, the rod can be precisely adjusted to different reel weights, enabling fatigue-free fishing even over many hours — a key advantage for typical Euro nymph drifts, which demand constant control over the rod tip and the nymph.
The XTZ ADIXION’s blank is made from multi-directional Toray carbon and utilises our X-Torsion technology, which prevents torsion under load and keeps the rod perfectly stable. This ensures that control remains constant at all times, both when casting and during the fight. Thanks to prepreg carbon with a reduced resin content, the blank is lighter, crisper and particularly responsive. The tip has been further refined to present even the smallest nymphs cleanly and reduce the likelihood of small fish slipping off the hook, whilst the powerful butt section continues to offer sufficient reserve for larger fish. As with the previous XTZ series, Adams Fly Rods uses an unpolished blank, which reduces line sticking in wet conditions and eliminates the need for a monowrap. The matt finish provides a subtle, functional look with a slight non-stick property.
The rod features a 12+1 guide layout, exclusively with single-leg guides, to preserve the full bend of the blank. Two of the single-leg guides are fitted with SIC inserts; compared to the previous generation, this ensures even smoother line flow. The two guides are made of titanium with SIC inserts, whilst the remaining guides are made of ultra-light stainless steel wire, ensuring smooth line flow and protecting delicate mono leaders and lines.
For safe transport, the XTZ ADIXION is supplied in a triangular Cordura tube with four individual compartments, so that each blank section is stowed separately and protected. In addition, a small aluminium container for the three weights of the balance system is included in the scope of delivery, ensuring they are always neatly stowed away and quickly to hand.
