Fly fishing on lakes and reservoirs has a long tradition, especially in the British Isles. In recent years, this facet of fly fishing has also become increasingly popular in our country. With the HYDROPSYCHE LAGO rod series, Sandro Soldarini now presents fly rods specially developed for this type of fly fishing, which are ideally suited for use both from the shore and from the boat. Due to the slightly longer length than a standard fly rod and designed for line classes #7 respectively #8, the fly lines developed especially for fly fishing in still water can be cast excellently at long distances.

In order to meet even the most demanding customers in search for a high-performance still water fly rod, only the best materials and components were used in the development of this rod series. The rod blank is made of CX Full Carbon, which allows for an extremely thin and light blank, as we are used to from Soldarini rods. Moreover, it is characterised by a snappy action and has plenty of power reserves to cope with special casts for this style of fly fishing, such as the Froller.

No compromises were made in the choice of the rest of the components, either in terms of quality or aesthetics. High-quality rod rings from Sea-Guide have been used for the entire ringing of the HYDROPSYCHE LAGO fly rods, the Full Wells rod handle is made of the best Flor Grade cork and has a rubberised cork finish at both ends. The uplock reel seat is machined from 6061 aluminium and has a carbon fibre insert. The fighting butt made of EVA foam facilitates the handling of the fly rod when playing the fish, especially with larger ones. In addition, the rod and reel remain better protected when you put the rod on the ground.

A clever detail is the fish size marking attached to the hand part of the rod, which allows you to estimate the size of the fish quickly and easily by holding it against the rod. The 4-piece fly rods of the HYDROPSYCHE LAGO series are supplied in a light grey Cordura rod tube with practical inner compartmentsand adjustable carrying strap.
