SOLDARINI HYDROPSYCHE TOURNAMENT

THE CHOICE OF WORLD CHAMPIONS

The HYDROPSYCHE TOURNAMENT series from Soldarini Fly Tackle represents a significant innovation with its 45-degree carbon fibre lay-up system. In this unique approach, the fibres are aligned neither lengthwise nor crosswise, but at a 45-degree angle to the rod axis, forming an X-shaped structure thanks to the alternating arrangement of the carbon fibre layers.

This construction method, which is often used for fishing rods subject to heavy use, such as carp and surf rods, was first used by Sandro Soldarini for fly fishing. Numerous tests have confirmed the advantages of this configuration, which significantly improves the performance of the rod.

HYDROPSYCHE TOURNAMENT rods use 8 different types of highly modulated carbon fibre, arranged at an angle of 45 degrees. Combined with highly modern resins, also known as radial carbon, slim, light and highly sensitive blanks are created that don't compromise on strength and durability. These rods offer a pleasant action, which is also ideal for skilfully landing larger fish on thin line. These rods also feature excellent torsional stability, enabling you to achieve unimagined casting precision.

The high quality of these products is not limited to the carbon fibre materials used: only the best materials available on the market are used for the components. The rod handle is made of Flor Grade cork, combined with an elegant reel seat made of aluminium with a carbon spacer.

The greatest care was also taken in the selection of the rod guides. The recoil guides are made of a special nickel-titanium alloy, which is not only extremely hard but also flexible, which has several advantages. On the one hand, the yielding guides influence the rod action as little as possible. On the other hand, these flexible guides do not break when subjected to excessive loads, but rather deform before returning to their original shape. Furthermore, they can withstand environmental influences, without corroding. The stripping guide comes from Sea Guide.

These fly rods come with a triangular rod tube with practical inner compartments that allow for quick rod assembly and disassembly as well as safe transport. Thanks to the adjustable shoulder strap, the transport tube can be conveniently taken anywhere.

Thanks to its exceptional reliability, top quality, and outstanding features, the HYDROPSYCHE TOURNAMENT has become the preferred choice of many competitive anglers worldwide. This rod model, prized for its distinctive carbon-fibre layout in the rod blank and unrivalled casting precision, has played a major role in some of the most prestigious competitions. One of many examples of the rod's excellence is the World Championship 2023, where the French team won the title with the HYDROPSYCHE TOURNAMENT. That is why Sandro Soldarini's Tournament rod series rightly bears its status as the absolute reference in the world of professional fishing.

THE INDIVIDUAL MODELS IN DETAIL

9' #3 - 9' #4: These 9-foot fly rods impress with their extremely light and slim blanks. They shine with their speed and responsiveness, making them the perfect choice for dry fly-fishing enthusiasts who value absolute precision in every cast and presentation. Thanks to their low weight, you can fish all day long without straining your rod arm and you will still be just as concentrated and focused when making the last cast of the day, so as not to miss any take. They are ideal for fine and precise casts and are the perfect equipment for anyone looking for maximum sensitivity and quality.

9'6' #2 - 9'6' #2/3 - 9'6'' #3/4: These nymph rods were primarily developed for smaller and medium-sized waters, where precision is more important than long range and long casts. Optimised for handling even very thin tippets, they are characterised by their sensitivity and lightness. These characteristics also make these rods very suitable for fine dry fly fishing. This versatility, making it easy to switch from one fishing technique to another, is the great strength of these rod models and is particularly suited to anglers who like to fish dynamically and flexibly.

10' #2/3 - 10' #3/4 - 10'6'' #2/3 - 11' #2 - 11' #3: These light and handy rods for nymph fishing are perfect for combining with thin tippets and guarantee excellent sensitivity. Specifically designed for Euronymphing, they are characterised by a slightly longer length, which allows for better control of the drift of your nymphs and ensures a very natural presentation. Their lightness allows you to fish for longer without getting tired and thus with a high level of concentration, making them perfect for being successful even on demanding waters and difficult days with sensitivity and precision.

10' #7/8 - 11' #7/8: These Stillwater fly rods are among the lightest and strongest on the market, combining power and durability in a unique tool. Thanks to their incredible lightness and responsiveness, they are perfect for long and precise casts, whether from the shore or from a boat. These rods are designed for large, powerful fish and demanding conditions, and deliver exceptional performance. Even in tough conditions, they offer full control at all times.
